On this day in 1814, Francis Scott Key wrote the poem, “The Defence of Fort McHenry”, which would later be set to music in 1931 and become our national anthem, “The Star-Spangled Banner.”
The Wildcat cross country team had their first we meet on Monday in Merrimack. Official times and results have yet to be released, but the team did exceptionally well. In a large field of runners including teams from Amherst, Bedford, Manchester, and Merrimack, the Wildcats made a very good showing. Several of the team even fought through hornet stings and illness to finish strong. Our first place team finishers, Kalissa Dionne for the girls, and Eli Lemire for the boys, both finished in the top ten. The team will compete tomorrow at the Wells School in Peterborough. Go Wildcats!!!
Our school will be collecting money to send to the hurricane relief fund. A collection jar will be in front of the Library on Monday morning. Please carefully consider what you are able to give. We will be sending the money to the American Red Cross to help with their hurricane disaster relief.
Have a Wonderful Wednesday Wildcats!
